Who Really Spends the Most on Armed Forces (Info-graphic)

The Guardian put together a great info-graphic that puts national military spending into perspective. Of particularly interest is "Yearly Military budget as % of GDP" and "Number of soldiers per 100,000 people".

A few other numbers I would be interested in seeing::
  • Payroll, health-care, and housing spent per soldier
  • % of budget on R&D for communications, medicine, aerospace and materials which all can have a positive impact on non-military sectors.
  • % of budget on Policing and Humanitarian efforts.
On a related note, the F-35B recently completed it's first mid-air hover. Pretty sweet huh?
